Here is the second portion of the preliminary forum from July 30th that featured a talk by Jennifer McTiernan of CitySeed and valuable discussions by many community stakeholders.

At a meeting last week of our small action group we worked in more detail on our mission and governing principles. The updated versions can be found on the About Us page. If you have any comments or questions please contact us. Thanks!

Below you can find the uploaded file of the Powerpoint presentation from the meeting. Due to technological problems we were not able to show this at the meeting. It is in video format for ease of viewing.

Included are the slides that I made of the food system. Though not fully detailed, they give a good outline of the current food system and potential models of a local food system and the holes that need to be filled to create a successful one.

Contact me with any questions. Thanks!
Misha

We had another very successful meeting on August 20th. More details will be posted soon, but in the meantime here are a couple of the important outcomes of the meeting.

    - Google Group: We have started this to serve as a central point for our information gathering and communicating as we move forward. Click here to go to the site. There, if not already a member and/or did not receive an invite, you may request membership. Contact us with any questions or problems.

    - Small Action Group: Seeing the need for more people to get involved in the organizational aspects of this initiative we asked for volunteers to be a part of this smaller group that will be doing the bulk of research and discussion between larger meetings. If you have questions about this or are interested in joining contact us.

There has not yet been a date set for the next large meeting. The action group will be meeting on Sept. 4th and will discuss a date for the next meeting.

Happy Harvests!
